Hey friends - needed your help for the following:
How do you fulfill the medical requirements to get the schengen visa. They need a document from your insurance company with the following information and my insurance company did not agree to give such a letter. How do others work around this?
The requirement is as stated on their webbiste is ::
Medical health/travel insurance, (you must provide an official letter from your medical insurance company stating the following criteria):
It is valid throughout Schengen territory.
It is valid during the entire period that you will be in Schengen territory.
The coverage is at least €30.000 (US $45.000).
The coverage includes repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical care and/or emergency treatment in a hospital.

Best thing to do is call your insurance company and find out if your coverage is valid outside of the US. It is an international coverage. If so, you could ask them to tell you the coverage details. They could also fax the coverage details over to you - which should be good to get your visa.
If you are not covered internationally under your current plan - then you will have to purchase the coverage.
